Keystone Technologies is known for its philosophy of Light Made Easy. Keystone’s latest innovation, the SmartCurrent USB programmable driver with convenient Android app, takes that thinking to the next level.

With SmartCurrent USB, there’s no more need for an elaborate setup including a PC and driver cradle. You can now program Keystone SmartCurrent LED drivers simply by connecting the driver to an Android smartphone or Android-compatible device. To set the power output, plug in the driver with the supplied USB cord, type in the output current you want, and click the button. It’s that easy.

The process is the “ultimate simple solution,” says Evan Smith, Keystone’s Vice President of Products and Sourcing.

“SmartCurrent USB takes what was already an incredibly flexible product – our Keystone programmable SmartCurrent LED drivers – and makes it even easier to use,” says Smith.

Says Josh Brown, EVP – Marketing and Distributor Sales, “With the driver’s USB port, customers can adjust power output from wherever they are, whether it’s behind the counter at a distributor, in a truck at a job site, or even in the field while ready to install. You don’t need a computer. Just connect the driver, type the output value on the driver label your replacing, and you’re ready to go.”

Keystone SmartCurrent LED drivers feature linear and compact form factors with multiple output power options, from 25W to 100W. They include a dim-to-off mode, enabling dimming to 1%, for precise tuning of output current, and feature a 12Vdc/ 200mA max auxiliary power output.

With its versatility, the app allows users to cut down on lead time – you can change power outputs within minutes and don’t need to wait for specific replacement drivers to arrive at a supplier – all while enabling distributors to reduce inventory, says Brown.

“With its programmable range of outputs in 10 milliamp increments, it’s like having 100 drivers in one,” he notes.

“Keystone is all about Light Made Easy,” he adds. “For programming drivers, you can’t get much easier than SmartCurrent USB.”
