LEDVANCE: Advancing Light with New SYLVANIA LED Innovations

November 8, 2016

LEDVANCE has announced a wide range of new Sylvania LED lighting solutions for both residential and commercial applications. Available now or in the near future, first-to-market products include an easy option for updating recessed lighting, and connected indoor/outdoor and under cabinet lighting. The company is also launching a motion and temperature sensor — a major step toward automating intelligent light — and Energy Star qualified LED A19 and A21 lamps that are rated at 15,000 hours, offering long life at a good value, and eligible for utility rebates.

“The Sylvania brand has been known for quality illumination for over a hundred years,” says Phil Rioux, Vice President and CEO, Global LED Lamps Business at LEDVANCE. “We are continuing that history of innovation by delivering superior lighting products to the market only available now from LEDVANCE.”

LEDVANCE is expanding its first-to-market Sylvania Contractor Series (10 Year Life) LED Portfolio, a robust family that includes high-quality, cost-effective lighting solutions rated up to 11,000 hours (L70) ideal for practically any socket. These energy-efficient products reduce maintenance costs and have the traditional shape and superior glow consumers know and enjoy, making them a great replacement for traditional lighting.

One of LEDVANCE’s newest product introductions is the first-to-market Sylvania LED integrated bulb and trim that inexpensively updates the look of recessed lighting in a single solution. Installation is as simple as installing a regular lamp since it has a fully enclosed medium base connection and no loose wires. To see how easy it is to install, watch this YouTube video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPrkjX8IXkw. Available in 2700K, the 6-inch lamp delivers 800 lumens and is dimmable down to 25%.

LEDVANCE is also growing its family of Sylvania smart lighting by introducing Sylvania Lightify edge-lit and convertible under cabinet adjustable white lights. The newest members of the Sylvania Lightify family can be controlled to deliver high-quality light between soft white 2700K and daylight white 6500K. They are also dimmable at each set colour temperature, offer smooth illumination, and have a long 20,000 hour (L70) life rating. Available at Lowe’s stores in December, the 18-inch durable edge-lit fixture is thin, glare free, easy to install, and expandable up to three lights. The slim design is ideal if you don’t have moulding to hide the under cabinet lighting and you only want to see beautiful light, not the fixture.

Available at Lowe’s stores and on Lowes.com, the convertible version is available in 9, 12, 18 or 24 inches, delivers between 300 and 600 lumens, and can be plugged in or hardwired, which is perfect for consumers who don’t want to see cords. It has a 90+ CRI, which is great in the kitchen because the high-quality light showcases the true colours of the ingredients used in meals. In addition, the new Sylvania Lightify indoor/outdoor flex strip RGBW can create beautiful effects inside or outside, including under deck railings, around walkways or behind furniture. Great for setting the colour to match your seasonal decorating, the wet-rated durable strip can be easily contoured around corners.

LEDVANCE is also offering the Sylvania Lightify Motion and Temperature Sensor on Amazon. Lights, groups and scenes can be switched automatically based on motion, while a room’s temperature can be monitored remotely. The wireless, intelligent motion sensor is compact and unobtrusive and can detect movements within an angle of 100 degrees and 15 feet. It can be individually configured with the Lightify app for specific adaptation to meet the user’s needs. With this app, users can set a rule to automate the lighting experience and choose a device, group or scene you want the motion sensor to control. You can also choose how long you want the motion sensor to stay on after motion is detected. Installing the sensor is flexible and easy thanks to an adhesive pad, and the battery life is two years.

Available at Lowe’s and Menards this month, dimmable Sylvania Ultra LED A19 and A21 Lamps last 15,000 hours (L70) — up to 10 times longer than incandescent lamps — and are Energy Star certified, qualifying them for utility rebates. These 40, 60, 75 and 100 Watt replacements use a fraction of the wattage compared to traditional lighting (5.5, 9, 12 and 16 Watts, respectively), saving money and energy. They have a smooth, lightweight design that mimics the look and feel of incandescent lamps. There is no warm-up time, and they are instant-on with full light output and stable colour. In addition, the omnidirectional form factor delivers smooth uniform illumination where needed.
