Lightform

Richard Assaly founded LightForm in 1987, bringing a select few, well made and well designed lighting brands to Edmonton, AB. Raised in a family of interior designers, architects and builders, he understood that lighting reflects the contemporary spaces it occupies but also defines them. This led him to seek out partnerships with lighting manufacturers who led the industry in craftsmanship as well as innovation in design.

More than 20 years later, LightForm is a leading national lighting supplier of architectural, outdoor and decorative lighting with four offices and flagship showrooms across Canada. Showcasing some of the most unique and iconic lighting collections in the world, LightForm’s showrooms in Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto provide designers and architects with the space and expertise they need for their residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.

Lightform’s philosophy centres on minimizing the distance between the A&D community and the manufacturers we work with, allowing the company to provide direct and accurate access to technical information, customization, competitive pricing, and transparency from factory to project.

“Relationships are everything,” says the company. “Establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with our clients and aligning ourselves with the commitments and philosophies of our manufacturers means that we care about product performance and are committed to providing the best customer service.”

A big Thank You to everyone who came out to help us celebrate the opening of our new Vancouver lighting showroom on Feb 27 in Gastown. Includes a large training centre where you’ll have the opportunity to learn about new products and technology directly from the lighting designers and manufacturers themselves. In this new space, complete with sketch-friendly chalkboard-painted walls, we’ll be hosting regular educational sessions so you’ll have the opportunity to see new product designs in person and ask questions directly to those who created the lights. As always the atmosphere for these sessions will be casual yet informative, with delicious snacks and drinks fuelling discussions.

Located at #2 425 Carrall Street, in the historic BC Electric Building at the intersection of the Gastown-Chinatown districts, the new LightForm showroom is 3 times the size of our old space, with more than 6,000 sq. ft. showcasing some of the most unique, innovative, and cutting-edge lighting collections in the world.
