Earlier in the week of October 3, 2024, David Gordon reported the release of Electrical Trends’ Q3 Pulse of Lighting survey and Acuity shared their FY Q4 results (which was CY Q3). Bottom line… while it was a hot summer, it wasn’t hot for the lighting market. Highlights from Acuity’s earnings call include ‘growth’ net sales in lighting, as well as a margin expansion, by 1.1% (but it grew!), the increase being “driven by improvements in the majority of channels but primarily being the result of higher net sales in the corporate accounts channel, and a shared number of new product launches, including Holophane’s Holobay.

Plastic pins securing the LED board can degrade, allowing the energized LED board to come loose and contact the lens or combustible materials, posing a fire hazard. As of July 3, 2024, the company has received no reports of Fire or injury in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 3 reports of Fire and no reports of injury.
