Fifth LAMP International Lighting Design Competition Deadline: December 15

November 6, 2017

The fifth LAMP International Lighting Design Competition aims to discover and promote emerging talent in lighting design. The three categories open for submissions include student, emerging and established designers. (Shown in photo: the 2016 Established Designers winner, and People’s Choice winner.)

After reviewing all submissions, an esteemed panel of judges will make their decisions based on a set evaluation ranging from aesthetics, marketability, innovation, and unique interpretation of the theme word BALANCE. The deadline for submission is December 15, 2017.

The competition is open to three categories:

  • Student — entrant must currently be enrolled in a post-secondary design or other artistically inclined program at the time of submission
  • Emerging — entrant has launched their business or professional career within the last 3 years
  • Established — Entrant’s business or professional design career has been active for a minimum of 3 years

Entries welcome from all disciplines including, but not limited to artists, industrial designers and architects. Prize winning designs will be considered for a manufacturing deal through a partnership between LAMP and lighting agency Light Resource.

Winners will be announced in August 2018, and competition finalists from around the world will be showcased at a LAMP reception in Vancouver, BC.
