Gregg Lowe Named as New CEO of Cree

Cree, Inc. has appointed Gregg Lowe as president and chief executive officer and to the board of directors of Cree, effective September 27. Mr. Lowe succeeds Chuck Swoboda, per the transition plan announced in May. Coincident with this change, Robert Ingram, current board member and lead independent director of Cree, will assume the position of chairman of the board. Mr. Swoboda will remain on the board until the annual meeting of shareholders on October 24.

A new plan that will quite literally light up the capital has received the OK from the NCC. Board members approved the Capital Illumination Plan, which aims to set new standards for lighting to better highlight some of the city’s bigger landmarks.The plan would showcase buildings along Confederation Boulevard including Parliament Hill and the Canadian Museum of History, while dimming other lighting to highlight those parts of the city.
