Clue Competition: New, Improved and More Frequent

October 18, 2018

Changes are coming to the CLUE (Community Lighting For The Urban Environment) competition. CLUE is an international lighting competition for students and young professionals supported by Signify Lighting Academy. The goal: to encourage and challenge young designers to develop innovative lighting concepts for interior and exterior spaces, stimulate challenging ideas and recognize individuals creating those ideas.

Here are the latest changes to the CLUE competition:

  • CLUE is becoming bi-annual. The competition is becoming bi-annual, and the call for entries in the contest will remain open for a year.
  • CLUE prizes are even more valuable. The monetary prizes will remain the same, but a variety of prizes will be added in the contest. Winners will have a unique opportunity to visit Light and Building, the biggest trade fair for lighting and building services technology. Another great opportunity that comes with winning the prize is travelling to the Netherlands to visit the Signify company headquarters (formerly Philips Lighting).
  • CLUE brings more knowledge opportunities. Participants will have an opportunity to attend many interesting webinars related to their field and view discussions and debates on relevant topics and trends like lighting design, architectural lighting design, UX, IoT, co-creation and art.
  • CLUE wants to collaborate with you. In the future, CLUE will be reaching out to schools from around the world in search of talented and creative students. With the competition becoming bi-annual, there is now more flexibility for both students and Universities to participate throughout the whole year. The new timeline allows more people to contribute with their work in meaningful projects.
