LDS 13 CS IES Fundamentals 400

November 12, 2020

The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) partners with Garden Light LED to launch the new eLearning course, Learn Night Light: Observe, Design, Refine with Janet Lennox Moyer.

The IES and Garden Light LED have collaborated to release Learn Night Light: Observe, Design, Refine, an IES eLearning course that provides the groundwork necessary for lighting designers to create safe and pleasing night environments. Featuring renowned landscape lighting designer and author Janet Lennox Moyer, the goal is to stimulate those who are starting out in the lighting industry, as well as those who want to elevate their work beyond the scope of basic lighting designs. Consisting of 10 sessions, this course gives registrants an opportunity to receive a CEU certificate of completion consisting of 10 CEUs / AIA LUs.

The specifics and intricacies of landscape lighting differ from other types of lighting. By looking at the science and art of lighting, how humans perceive light, and how we use light to guide people through nighttime landscape spaces, this program will elevate understanding and expand creativity. “If you want to elevate your career as a lighting designer, Learn Night Light (LNL) is for you,” said Garden Light LED Strategy and Marketing V.P. Michelle Mueller. “Jan shares her more than four decades of groundbreaking work, in-the-field experience with topics ranging from Composition Elements, Plant Lighting Guidelines to Lighting Water Features.”

Janet Lennox Moyer stated, “I have developed courses on Landscape Lighting, based on what I have learned in my 45-year career, to help lighting designers learn new techniques and benefit from challenges that I have faced throughout the years. I am honored that Michelle Mueller from Garden Light LED and the IES are producing and making this course available to everyone in our industry.”

“As we continue to strive to provide the highest quality of education to our membership and the general public, we are thrilled to launch our new Partner Content program on our eLearning Portal,” said Tom Butters, Director of IES Education, “and we are honored to be working with Garden Light LED and the iconic Janet Lennox Moyer on the release of the marvelous Learn Night Light landscape lighting course.” A second course of an additional ten sessions is planned for the near future.
