Ideal Supply to Have New Human Resources Manager

Ideal Supply

September 6, 2017

Tim MacDonald has announced that Joan Waechter is leaving Ideal Supply at the end of October this year.

Joan worked in the Ideal Supply office through secondary school and college, joining the Company full-time as the manager of Avon Lighting in Hanover in 1984.  She has been Ideal’s Vice-President of Human Resources since 2001.  She was also a co-owner of the company until September of last year.

Joan is not retiring but turning a page to begin a new chapter in her life, devoting more time to philanthropic opportunities in her community and independent HR projects.

Joan was the first person at Ideal Supply who was dedicated to Human Resources and has made an important contribution to the most important element of our company – our people.  Ideal’s culture is admired by our suppliers, customers, and competitors across the country.  Joan’s fingerprints are all over our culture, and that culture is a big reason we can attract and retain some of the best people in our region.  We will miss Joan’s enthusiastic engagement in many facets of our Company, but are excited that she can embrace this new chapter in her life.

Mae Brooks will be joining Ideal Supply on September 5th as Ideal’s Human Resources Manager.  Mae comes to Ideal with a solid background in HR leadership and management, most recently at Schaeffler Canada in Stratford (HR Manager) and prior to that; Curtiss Wright in Stratford, Listowel and Kitchener (Sr. HR Manager), and worked at Ideal as a student several years ago.  Mae lives in Listowel with her family and is excited about joining our Company in this important role.
