Legrand introduces Voice Control compatibility with its radiant Collection RF (radio frequency) and adorne Collection Wi-Fi Lighting System. This new functionality enables Legrand customers to control their lights via Amazon’s Echo and Dot devices or Google Home.

“Ok Google, turn on the porch lights”

Homeowners that have both Legrand smart lighting systems and Voice Control-enabled devices from Google or Amazon can now power and dim lights simply by saying phrases like, “Ok Google, turn on the porch lights,” or “Alexa, dim the living room to 50%” without needing to reach for a phone, tablet, or light switch. Using the Google Home or Alexa apps, users can also easily control multiple lights with a single command, name individual lights, schedule individual lights to go on/off, and set scenes by time of day.

The Collections by Legrand offer discerning homeowners many ways to enhance and personalize lighting and power controls with its unique selection of wall plates, dimmers and switches, scene controllers, plug-in modules and outlets. The Collections offer endless choices of diverse functionality and stylish designs to fit every homeowner’s style and budget.

“With the growing popularity of the myriad Voice Control technologies on the market, we are so pleased to announce the integration of our Collections lighting controls with Amazon Alexa and Google Home,” said Fritz Werder, VP and general manager of Legrand’s On-Q and Nuvo lines. “Our goal is to offer users the simplicity of connecting to our products any way they prefer. We want homeowners who enjoy the convenience of using Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant in their homes to have the same options for controlling their lights, too.”

Integration with Google or Amazon Alexa is powered by Samsung ARTIK™ Cloud. To enable voice control activation with either system, customers must have a Legrand LC7001 Whole House Lighting Controller (“Hub”) with an integrated Samsung ARTIK™ Cloud account, as well as radiant RF or adorne Wi-Fi ready switches or dimmers. To enable voice control of Legrand smart lighting with the voice control devices, users will search for “Samsung ARTIK Cloud Optimized for Smart Home” in the Amazon Alexa or Google Home app. Once selected, users then follow the instructions to integrate the systems.

The compatibility of the Collections’ lighting systems with Amazon Alexa and the Google Assistant comes on the heels of the recent launch of Legrand’s Eliot (Electricity + IoT) program. Eliot is a global Legrand IoT program that brings together Legrand’s worldwide expertise to advance connectivity and intelligence in the built environment, mobilize Legrand’s capabilities around the world, speed the development of Legrand connected devices and amplify communications wherever the Internet of Things can enhance value for all users.
